It happened just before 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning on the 800 block of Vance Street in Toledo, Ohio, according to officials on the scene.

Toledo Police were investigating a Shot Spotter alert when they found two women dead from apparent gunshot wounds. One victim was lying in the street and the other was in a car.

An earlier press release from police incorrectly identified another woman as one of the victims in the shooting. TPD issued a correction Sunday evening, identifying the victims as 40-year-old Natasha Carlisle and 42-year-old Laura Luckey ruling their deaths as homicides.

A TPD Sergeant said the victims were most likely innocent bystanders and were not involved in any criminal activity.

Police have not yet identified any suspects but said they are following multiple leads.

A witness said she heard at least five gunshots and saw the shooter running away from the scene. She called 911 for help.

Multiple bullet holes could be seen on the drivers side door of a car at the crime scene.
