Police in Ohio are investigating after a woman was found dead and a child was badly injured in Blue Ash.

Officer Pete Bronner found an eight-year-old boy walking on Williamson Road at about 12:30 a.m. suffering from a severe cut to his leg. The officer used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, which may have saved his life.

The boy said he’d been at the Sonesta ES Suites and that his “momma dead”. He said he’d tried to help her but someone pushed him out of a window. He told police who pushed him but they are not releasing that name.

The boy was taken to the hospital.

Other officers responded to the motel and found bloody footprints. They followed them and determined from which room they could have come.

They were eventually able to get into the room and found Lashawnda Batchelor with a gunshot wound to the head in the tub. A gun was found next to her.

Emergency crews tried to save her but she died from the injury.

According to a social media post from a family member, Lashawnda was a mother of 3 boys.

Police say the cause of her death is still under investigation. Family members said this was a suicide.
