An Alabama man is facing manslaughter charges after authorities say he shot and killed his teenage brother Wednesday afternoon in Clanton.

Thomas James Robinson is being charged with manslaughter in the death of his brother, 14-year-old Bryan Scarbrough.

Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon said the shooting happened Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 26, on County Road 28 in Clanton around 12:30 p.m.

Robinson is also facing unrelated charges of sodomy and sexual abuse of a child.

A friend of the family created a GoFundMe account to help with funeral and burial expenses. You can donate here.

Scarbrough was a student at Chilton County High School. In a statement released on the Chilton County High School’s Facebook page, Principal Ron Pinson said they are “working with our partners in Chilton County to provide grief counseling to the staff and students who have been impacted emotionally by this tragedy, and we will do everything we can to assist the family in their time of need.”
