Authorities in Wisconsin have positively identified the body of a 20-year-old woman who was reported missing from Milwaukee in September.

20-year-old Kania Brunson was reportedly last seen on Saturday, September 24, 2022. She was last thought to be seen near some condos Saturday. Her car was found Saturday night on the east side of King Drive.

According to Milwaukee police, a body was found around 10:40 p.m. on October 1 at Palmer Street and Keefe Avenue in the Harambee neighborhood.

On Wednesday, the medical examiner’s office said it was treating the death as a homicide.

The woman’s family identified Kania.

“It’s terrible that we have to do this. I never thought I would bury my daughter before she died,” said Brunson’s mother, Jennifer Meadows.

Even if you haven’t met Kania or don’t know when you met Kania you fell in love with Kania. She’s gonna make you smile, she’ll tell a joke, you just want to know who she is. A bright aura around him, a bright light, said Shawnte Brunson, Kania’s father.

Kania was described as someone who loves helping others and has just signed up for certified nursing assistant classes.

Police haven’t released any additional information on Kania’s death.
