New developments continue in the 2020 double murder of a Kalamazoo Township, Michigan couple involving two brothers and one sister.

Tonesha Taylor-McMillon, Tikario Taylor McMillon and D’Angelo Davis were charged in the double murder of Katoya McPherson and Floyd Brashers in December of 2020.

Tonesha Taylor-McMillon was sentenced to 19 months and 10 days Monday, which she has already served. She is expected to leave jail.

This comes days after her brother, Tikario Taylor McMillon was acquitted from all charges by a jury on Friday.

Police said Tonesha Taylor-McMillon drove the getaway car. She agreed to plead guilty to accessory of the fact and serve 19 months in jail.

Tikario Taylor-McMillon’s second murder trial took place last week. His first trial ended in a mistrial in March after his brother, D’Angelo Davis backed out of a plea deal.

During the double murder trial, Tonesha Taylor-McMillon told the jury her brother, Tikario, confessed he shot them both.

During the four-day trial, Criminal Defense Attorney Caleb Grimes argued there was no evidence of Tikario’s involvement and Tonesha had a lot to gain from her words on the stand, as part of her plea deal.

“If somebody does something he was accused of, you’re going to find something,” said Grimes. “And there was just absolutely nothing there, so I’m happy with the jury, glad that they did the right thing and sent him home.”

One of the double murder victim’s family members said she’s in shock about the verdict.

“Lives were snatched away from them, I truly, truly, truly don’t believe that D-Angelo did this all alone,” said Betty Hudson, Floyd Brasher’s aunt.

One of the siblings, D’Angelo Davis was sentenced to life in prison in June for the murder of McPherson and Brashers.
