A California woman has been arrested for the murder of her sister and her 3-week-old niece in Fresno.

22-year-old Yarelly Solorio-Rivera was arrested in the death of her 18-year-old sister Yanelly and baby Celine.

Police also arrested Yarelly’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Martin Arroyo-Morales who is a validated gang member, in connection to the double murder.

Police say the motive behind the double murder was jealousy and a sibling rivalry and that Yarelly showed “no remorse.”

Yarelly was booked into the Fresno County Jail and has been booked for two counts of murder. Both will be filed with special circumstances, meaning the district attorney’s office may pursue the death penalty.

This past weekend, Fresno Police found additional evidence and released surveillance footage of a person of interest.

Fresno Police also announced last week that increased efforts to track down the person who killed the young mother and her baby.

On Saturday, September 24, family members inside a Southwest Fresno home called 911 to report shots fired.

When officers arrived, at least four people who were home at the time of the shooting were outside unsure if anyone else was in the home.
