The Cleveland Division of Police in Ohio is investigating after a woman was found fatally shot on a sidewalk on Tuesday afternoon, according to online reports.
According to police, just after 1 p.m., a driver noticed a victim on the ground in the area of Ashland Road and Hawthorne Avenue and called police.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found a 40-year-old woman on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say a resident in the area reported hearing gunshots between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.
The shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
