A North Carolina pastor was arrested in connection to the sexual offenses and rapes of several juveniles since 2011.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Investigators, Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Task Force worked together to arrest 54-year-old Albert Lopez, of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Lopez is the head pastor of Iglesia Bautista Puerta Abierta Church in McLeansville, North Carolina. At this time, none of the reported sexual assaults reportedly occurred at the church.
Lopez is charged with:
- Five counts of second-degree rape
- Five counts of second-degree sex offense
- Three counts of indecent liberties with a child
He is being held in the Rockingham County Detention Center on $3 million bail.
This is an ongoing investigation.
