The family is calling for justice.
Grace Ross’ grandmother says they are angry and won’t stop until they get justice for her.
We did learn some new details about Ross today. School officials confirm she was a student at Olive Elementary in New Carlisle, Indiana.
In a statement, the superintendent there called her death a “tragic loss” and they had counselors and local pastors on hand today for students and staff to talk to.
“Our school district and school family has suffered a tremendous loss. This past Friday evening one of our fellow students in kindergarten at Olive Elementary died. The circumstances of the student’s death are under investigation. Local police have arrested a suspect and have them in custody.
There will be counselors and local pastors available tomorrow for students and staff to talk with during the school day. If your student speaks with one of these adults, you will be contacted. Please contact your student’s principal if you have any questions.”
This all began on Friday night when the St. Joseph County metro homicide team was called out to a wooded area near Chapman Street. They found Ross’ body there.
They later took a 14-year-old suspect into custody but his name and what charges he may face haven’t be released to the public.
