UPDATE: They say Keydall was found in a nearby pool this morning. The Medical Examiner will officially confirm ID, but they were there and they said it is their boy.

The search continues for a critical missing child who was last seen on Friday morning.

A body was recovered Saturday during a search for a missing 8-year-old boy who was last seen Friday in Far North Dallas, police say.

Police could not confirm whether the body was that of the Keydall Jones, whose family said he broke away as they were trying to get him into the car for school around 7 a.m. Friday.

Keydall, who has autism and is nonverbal, was last seen in the 13600 block of Montfort Drive.

The body was found in a pool in the same area Saturday, police said. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office will determine the identity of the person.

Family and friends searched the area for Keydall on Friday night with a dog, looking in nearby creeks and woods.

His mother, Champaigne Williams, said Friday that they had been in touch with area hospitals and Keydall’s school, but had not heard anything.

“I’m not going to be able to sleep or anything until my baby’s back home, until he’s safe in my arms,” Williams said.

While the family’s asking the public for help, they warn Keydall must be approached calmly. He may not respond to his name and is likely to run.

They say the best thing to do for someone who spots him is call 911.

“We just need help. And we’re asking the community and anyone to please come help us find him, because he’s by himself. And you know, he can’t talk for himself. It’s for us to protect him,” said Keydall’s grandmother Maulcia Reece.
