Authorities have located the body of missing 19-year-old woman Patti Hathcock in Jackson, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported Tuesday, and a man has been charged with her murder after admitting to killing her.
Jackson Police reported later in the day that their investigation in Hathcock’s disappearance over the weekend led them to Shawn Shaw, who admitted to assaulting and later killing Hathcock in south Madison County. Shaw later led JPD to her body.
Hathcock disappeared Thursday evening after being last seen in Jackson.
A witness reportedly contacted the JPD Friday evening and stated Ms. Hathcock’s vehicle was located in a local park, according to a statement from the department. The witness believed Hathcock had been killed by Shaw, who was her boyfriend.

Hathcock’s body was sent to Nashville for an autopsy.
Shaw was arraigned in Jackson City Court on Wednesday on charges of first degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault and tampering with evidence.
