A woman is dead and her 3-year-old child was taken to a hospital following a shooting in Orlando, Florida late Sunday.
Authorities were called to an apartment complex on the 8700 block of Wellesley Lake Drive around 11:38 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived at the complex, they found the victim, 37-year-old Capucine Carson and the child, had been shot.
Capucine was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies say the child was taken to a hospital, where her condition is considered critical.
Officials say the shooter is Capucine’s husband 37-year-old Toffara Snow.
According to court records, witnesses say they saw Capucine and Snow arguing and she got into her car to leave with 3 of her children.
Witnesses say Snow opened her rear driver’s side door and as she tried to drive away, jumped into the backseat. They say they then heard gunshots and saw the man run away.

The first deputies who arrived, pulled Capucine out of the car but she had died. They also said she had a gun in her hand.
Capucine’s 3-year-old daughter in the front passenger seat was hit in the head and was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Soon after, investigators say Snow called his mother and daughter. He admit to them he fired ten shots and killed Capucine, the report said.
The mother gave the phone to a deputy who talked to Snow. According to the report, Snow told the deputy he knew he was going to prison and wanted to turn in the gun he used but also wanted to see his mother first.
He allegedly claimed he shot her because she had a gun.
According to a release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, at 7:52 p.m. Monday, deputies attempted to make contact with Snow who ran into the Big Lots store in the 700 block of Good Homes Road, where officials say he shot himself.
Orange County Fire Rescue crews responded and transported the suspect to a local hospital in critical condition.
