A woman has been charged with murder after her husband was found dead in a Missouri City, Texas home Tuesday.
Police said the woman shot her husband at a residence located at 1010 Americana Dr., while their 5-month-old child was present. Capt. Paul Poulton said the wife told investigators the shooting was accidental.
Capt. Poulton identified the woman as 43-year-old Jacqueline Thomas. Thomas has been charged with murder and is in Fort Bend County Jail.

According to investigators, there was a disturbance between the couple and Thomas shot the victim once in the chest. Police identified 42-year-old Eugene Liger as the victim. Capt. Poulton said Liger gave a statement before he later died at the hospital which was inconsistent with Thomas’ story.
“Once officers arrived, looked at the scene and some inconsistencies in the stories and a statement by the victim, it was discovered it was not so accidental,” said Capt. Paulton.
Police said the couple also had four children from prior relationships.
