A Plainfield, New Jersey man has been charged with murdering a pregnant woman on Saturday evening.

42-year-old Shakir Tyler is charged with shooting 35-year-old Tayeesha Webb after an argument at a Wintergreen Avenue West home a little before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Webb was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tyler was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose after surrendering to the members of Allentown (Pa.) Police Department.

Tyler was charged after an investigation by Detective Ayaz Mamood of the Edison Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Tyler remains incarcerated in Pennsylvania pending extradition to New Jersey.

When he is extradited, he will face a pre-trial detention hearing in Middlesex County Superior Court.

According to a GoFundMe page, Webb was a beautiful mother who leaves behind 5 children, daughter, sister and friend. She was also pregnant at the time of the shooting.
