One person is dead after a shooting Thursday afternoon in East Lubbock, Texas. Police were called to 2435 E. 30th St shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday regarding a domestic dispute.
The original call reported a stabbing, but upon arrival, Lubbock police officers found a female gunshot victim.
According to LPD, 52 year-old Pamela Boyd was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. Boyd was transported to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
Police say initial investigation indicated 76 year-old Clyde Boyd, and his daughter, Pamela, were arguing when Clyde shot her. It was later determined no stabbing occurred.

According to the arrest warrant, Clyde Boyd went into a bedroom with a gun in his hand, pointed the gun at his daughter Pamela and shot her. Pamela’s daughter was also in the room. She told police he then pointed the gun at her, but she was able to get the gun away from Clyde. She then called 911. She initially told police her grandfather stabbed her mother.
Clyde Boyd told police he pointed the gun at Pamela to scare her and the gun went off. He told police he knew pointing a gun at someone was dangerous, but he did not intend to kill her. He denied pointing the gun at his granddaughter, but did say she took the gun from him.
When police arrived, they found the gun at the house.
LPD issued a release stating Clyde was placed under arrest for murder shortly after 8 o’clock, Thursday evening.
