Jackson police have identified a suspect accused of shooting and killing three people and injuring another three at Club Rain.

Police have issued a warrant for Jeremy Jones in connection with the shooting that killed 25-year-old Alicia Brown, 22-year-old Deanne Bell, and 22-year-old Elijah Bridges.

The shooting took place early Sunday morning following a disturbance at Club Rain on Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson, Mississippi.

Multiple rounds were fired inside of the building, police said. Brown’s body was found at the front entrance and the other two bodies were in a back storage room, police said.

“The investigation has also revealed there were five security guards that were supposed to be working that scene,” said Deputy Chief Deric Hearn. “This happened inside of the club. These three individuals, along with three other individuals, were all shot inside the club.”

Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes spoke about the early morning shooting on Sunday.

“We have families who’s broken. We got young people and older people with these guns and they’re doing anything they want to do. We got to stop it,” said Councilman Stokes.

The owners of the nightclub said they were not at the sports bar when the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. They were told that the first shots were fired from across the street and found multiple bullet holes in the side of their business. A van was also struck multiple times by bullets outside.

Stokes believes reducing crime starts with more visibility from law enforcement.

“The more boost we have on the ground, the fewer murders we are going to have,” said Councilman Stokes.

If you have any information about the shooting, contact the Jackson Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Division at 601-960-1278 or contact Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
