A 22-year-old Lowell, Massachusetts man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the slaying of a 22-year-old Boston mother on Thanksgiving.
Leonard Robinson has been charged in connection with the homicide of Dejah Jenkins-Minus, who became a mother two months ago.
Robinson was located in Boston and arrested without incident. He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Lowell District Court.
Police say that Robinson killed Jenkins-Minus on Thanksgiving in a Llewelyn Street home before fleeing the scene.
Lowell Police responded to the house on Friday morning to conduct a well-being check for Jenkins-Minus and her two-month-old daughter at the request of a person known to Jenkins-Minus. Upon arrival, officers found her body inside the residence with signs of apparent trauma.
EMS responded to the scene and pronounced her dead. The Chief Medical Examiner later ruled her death a homicide by multiple sharp force injuries.
The baby was located unharmed.
Officers later executed a search warrant at the Llewelyn Street residence and recovered multiple items, including a knife that appears to be consistent with the murder weapon.
