An 18-year-old Tuscaloosa, Alabama man was arrested Saturday and booked into jail on charges of murdering a 19-year old woman on Friday.

The incident occurred three days after Deramus Harris Jr. was denied youthful offender status on felony murder and attempted murder charges stemming from a killing that occurred on February 19, 2020, in Tuscaloosa. Harris had been out on bond since April.

According to Tuscaloosa police, Harris is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Shania Robinson while she was inside a vehicle. Police found her suffering from a gunshot wound to the head Friday inside a vehicle parked on Hay Court in Tuscaloosa. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witness told police that “several” people were involved in the incident. Harris was arrested and charged for murder and robbery, while another man is wanted by police. His identity was not released.

Harris is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on no bond.

He was 16 when he was charged with murder for an incident that occurred on Fosters Ferry Road. Harris and 22-year-old Darrion Dees encountered three juveniles walking, one of which Harris reportedly had issues with. A confrontation occurred in which Harris and Dees began firing guns at the juveniles. At least two of the three in the group were armed and fired back. Dees was struck and killed during the exchange.

Investigators believe Harris instigated the confrontation and charged him in the death of Dees, according to media reports.

He had been held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $330,000 bond. A request to have his bond reduced on July 7, 2020, was denied by Judge John Henry England Jr.
