The suspect involved in a triple homicide Thursday morning was shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement at an apartment complex in Wisner, Louisiana.
According to Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb, deputies responded around 11 a.m. to an apartment complex after receiving a report of a suspicious armed man entering the complex. Residents were being evacuated when the suspect, confirmed to be Barry Rigsby, began firing shots in the direction of deputies on the scene.
State Police arrived and assisted in continuing to evacuate the complex; the suspect continued to fire shots numerous times, FPSO says. At one point, the suspect deployed a fire extinguisher in the direction of law enforcement “in order to gain a tactical advantage,” Cobb says.

Cobb says shots were fired and Rigsby was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Franklin Parish Coroner’s Office.
“This was a senseless situation that ended in numerous tragedies,” says Cobb.
Rigsby was wanted on three counts of second degree murder after Shreveport Police say three people, including a 12-year-old, were found shot to death at a home in the 400 block of W. 82nd Street in Shreveport.
The victims were found around 1:45 am on November 4 when a woman went to the home to check on the welfare of her son. Police say when she arrived at the residence the back door was found open. Then found hree individuals, two adults and a 12-year-old, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
A relative identified the victims as 28-year-old Adriana Perry Rigsby, her son, 12-year-old Xavier Perry, and her brother 18-year-old Joshua Perry, who lived in the home.
The relative said Barry ‘Rico’ Rigsby was still living in the home. Xavier was his stepson.
The killings, according to police, are considered domestic in nature.
