On October 19, 2017 Chicken King co-owner Quentin King automatically received a life sentence for the June 2015 murder of his mistress, Megan Price.

Megan was 8 months pregnant when she was murdered by her married boyfriend.

Quentin was an co-owner of a successful chicken restaurant called Chicken King. He ran the business along with his wife of 17 years and they had 3 locations located in Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Conway, Arkansas.

Megan and Quentin had been having an affair for over 14 years. Before Megan’s murder, the owner of Priceless Hair Studio, announced on Facebook that she was pregnant with Quentin’s child. The Facebook post was public for the world to see, including Quentin’s wife.

Tragically, that Facebook post is what caused her death.

The message, before it was deleted from Facebook by Quentin after the murder, said:

“I love you so much, Quentin King. Fourteen years and still going strong. I cannot imagine a better father. When you rub my stomach it’s like she already knows you. Remember…Love has the power to heal or kill… Always proceed with caution!”

She was killed by three gunshots to the head, two fired into her face and one point-blank into the top of her head. She was found naked in her bedroom, two days after she was last seen alive.

Megan filed for several orders of protection, but never went to court to have them enacted. A Pulaski County Deputy Prosecutor said Quentin was previously charged with attempted murder for setting fire to Megan’s home with her children inside. Megan recanted her story and dropped the charges as the case was going to trial.

Quentin faced two counts of capital murder: One for the death of Megan and one for the death of her unborn child. However, the second capital murder charge was dismissed by Circuit Judge Herb Wright. The judge ruled that the prosecution had not proven the unborn baby was alive when Megan was shot.

“Every time a woman goes back, there’s a much greater chance of it being more violent every time. Because he knows now she will leave, she can leave, so it becomes more violent and more controlling each time,” said Dorcas VanGilst. “The most dangerous time for a women in domestic violence is when she tries to leave. That’s when women get killed, is when they’re trying to leave, they just left.”
