A missing 5-year-old girl out of Georgia has been found dead, according to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
Kamarie Holland was last seen Monday in Columbus, Georgia, and was listed as critically injured.
Authorities announced Tuesday that the girl was found dead in a vacant home in Phenix City, Alabama. They said it appears she had been strangled.
They said Jeremy Tremaine Williams has been charged with capital murder in the case.
Authorities said Williams previously lived in the home where the child’s body was found. Williams was currently living in Columbus.
Authorities said Williams was found in a motel with his uncle after being suspected in the kidnapping of the girl.
According to officials, Williams had been charged in the past with abusing children.
