Columbus City leaders said a shooting that claimed the lives of three people, including two children, Tuesday night was not a random shooting and that it was a targeted attack.
According to police, 22-year-old Charles Wade, 9-year-old Demitrius Wall’neal, and 6-year-old Londynn Wall’neal were shot and killed in a car just after 6 p.m. Tuesday on Kodiak Drive.
“All of the evidence that we have at the scene indicates that this is not a random act. It does appear to be a targeted assassination. There’s no other way to say it. The evidence we have at the scene absolutely indicates this was a targeted assassination, ” Columbus Police Det. Terry Kelley said.
Based on the evidence, Kelley said police are searching for at least two suspects in the shooting.
