Police in the City of Yonkers believe they have solved a nine-year-old murder case with the arrest of a Bronx, New York woman.
40-year-old Wanda Veguilla was charged with murder in the death of her then live-in girlfriend, 26-year-old Pamela Graddick. Her body was found on September 4, 2012 wrapped in a garbage bag and dumped in a wooded area. She had been shot in the head.
Veguilla was identified as a person of interest early on in the investigation; however, it took years of additional case work to develop probable cause, culminating in a confession by her.
Investigation determined Veguilla shot Graddick in their Bronx apartment as a result of ongoing domestic issues. Detectives believe Veguilla was assisted by an accomplice who provided the murder weapon and helped transport the body. John Torres, a 30-year-old Yonkers resident, was charged with criminal facilitation, hindering the prosecution, and tampering with physical evidence in Graddick’s murder.
Both Veguilla and Torres were committed to the Westchester County Jail pending future court appearances.
