A 1-year-old boy has died after he was shot in the chest Thursday evening in West Palm Beach, Florida in a suspected targeted shooting.

1-year-old Kaleb Watson died on Friday after being shot in the chest. He was reportedly sitting in a vehicle with his parents in an alleyway near Douglass Ave and 4th street.

A suspect, or suspects, came up to the vehicle and opened fire. Police said the suspect or suspects then ran off.

Kaleb was hit by a bullet in the chest and his 20-year-old mother was grazed by a bullet. His 20-year-old father was uninjured, according to police.

Kaleb’s wounds were more serious and he arrived at the hospital in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries.

Detectives are working on leads and officials said the shooting is not a random act. The reason for the targeting and weapon used will not be released because of the ongoing investigation.

A $10,000 reward is in place for anyone who gives information that leads to finding the person who killed the infant, police said. Anyone who gives an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers is up for a $3,000 reward.

West Palm Beach police say the shooting does not appear to be random and are asking anyone with information on the shooter to call Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 1-800-458-TIPS.
