A Decatur, Illinois man who was convicted of raping a 6-year-old girl was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

20-year-old Dominick Logan-Andrew Rice was arrested in March of 2021 on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13.

His arrest stems from the rape of a 6-year-old at the Country Inn & Suites in Decatur on February 1, 2021.

In March 2022, Rice agreed to enter a plea of guilty to charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13, a Class X felony.

He must serve at least 85% of his seven year sentence. Rice will be given credit for 362 hours already served.

Once released from prison, he will be required to spend three years on Mandatory Supervised Release. He must also register as a sex offender for life.
