A serial killer sentenced to 160 years in prison in New Jersey for killing three women is now accused of killing a 15-year-old girl whom he met online in 2016.
Authorities on Thursday charged Khalil Wheeler-Weaver with murder in the death of Mawa Doumbia. She was last seen leaving her family’s home in 2016 and her remains were found in a vacant building in Orange in 2019. The remains were identified in 2021.

“Following an investigation involving extensive digital evidence, it was determined that on October 7, 2016, Wheeler-Weaver met the young girl online and solicited her to meet him in person for sex,” the Essex County prosecutor’s office said in a statement. “It is alleged that he traveled to the area of her residence then to the murder scene where he strangled her to death and left her remains concealed within the vacant building.”
The allegations mirrored the previous slayings in which Wheeler-Weaver was sentenced to 160 years in prison in 2021 after he was convicted of using dating apps to lure three women for sex and strangling them in 2016.

In one of those slayings, prosecutors said friends of one of the victims used social media to help police find Wheeler-Weaver. They gained access to her social media accounts, set up a fake account, lured Wheeler-Weaver to a meeting and notified police, according to prosecutors.
A fourth woman who survived an attack testified at Wheeler-Weaver’s trial.
He maintained at sentencing that he was framed.
It could not be determined whether he has retained a lawyer to represent him in the latest case.
