A mistrial was declared in the Maryland murder case of 28-year-old Lakeyria Doughty, popularly known as ‘Wheelie Queen,’ after a jury could not reach a verdict Friday, her defense attorney Andy Jaskulsky said.

“We are disappointed in the outcome. But we have faith in the judicial system,” Jaskulsky said.

Doughty is accused of fatally stabbing her 33-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany Wilson, on New Year’s Day 2021. Officers found Wilson dead inside a home in the 1200 block of North Stricker Street in West Baltimore’s Sandtown Winchester section.

Doughty was at the home when officers arrived and she was arrested after she was questioned. Police at the time described it as a “domestic situation where cooler heads didn’t prevail” Wilson’s death was the first Baltimore homicide of 2021.

According to the criminal complaint, the home showed signs of struggle including displaced furniture and scuff marks on the walls.

During the trial, Doughty took the stand in her own defense and said that she and Wilson were arguing and Wilson stabbed herself during the confrontation.

However, the medical examiner found that the injury was inconsistent with a self-inflicted wound, the complaint said. The complaint also said text messages painted “a very disturbing picture” of the relationship.

Jaskulsky said Doughty rejected an earlier plea deal for a charge of second-degree murder with a 20-year prison term. Jaskulsky said her client could consider another deal depending on the terms.

Doughty was featured in the drama “Charm City Kings,” which debuted on HBO Max in October 2020. Doughty, went by the name “Wheelie Queen” on social media, performed stunts on bikes and stood out as a woman in the typically male-dominated city dirt bike scene. She told reporters that she started riding at 11. Since then, she started a popular Instagram account that sold “Wheelie Queen” merchandise.

The 12 O’Clock Boys — a group of Baltimore dirt bike riders — distanced themselves from the Doughty after she was arrested. The group, which was the subject of a 2014 documentary, said that despite news reports she was not associated with the group.

A 2014 Baltimore Sun profile of Doughty said she had a “12 O’Clock Boys” tattoo on her bicep. “This 12 O’Clock Boy is a girl,” the 2014 profile read.

Doughty is being held at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Jessup.
