Authorities in Georgia are investigating after a 24-year-old woman was shot dead in East Point, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The shooting happened Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. at the 4000-block of Fox Hunt Lane, which is near The Park at Galaway Apartments.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner labeled the shooting a homicide, saying it resulted from a domestic dispute.
The medical examiner identified the victim as Destiny Fitzpatrick Tuesday.
East Point Police said the woman had been shot several times. The woman’s boyfriend was taken into custody in connection to her shooting death. He told investigators that a domestic dispute had taken place inside their apartment, the police department said.
According to social media, Fitzpatrick was a successful business owner of an online retail store based in Atlanta.
Charges are pending against the man. East Point Police detectives are still investigating what happened.
