Sheriff’s in Florida arrested a 15-year-old boy Saturday morning for reportedly taking six people hostage in a Jacksonville home.
According to The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Caleb Seth Boone is now facing a minimum felony charge of false imprisonment.
Police say that around 3:30 a.m. Saturday they got a call about an armed person holding hostages at a residence on Kaylor Lane, near Yellow Bluff Road and I-295.
The sheriff’s office got an arrest and search warrant and sent a SWAT team out to the home. SWAT was able to safely remove Boone and the six hostages, which included both adults and children.
According to police, Boone has “numerous outstanding custody orders.”
“My understanding is he has a lengthy criminal record,” Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Lt. Shannon Hartley said. “I can definitely tell you it’s not our first interaction with him.”
Police say Boone does not live at the residence involved and that they are still trying to find his connection to the home at this time.
The sheriff’s office says the neighborhood is secure and that there are no injuries reported.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
