A fight between “lifelong” friends ended in a deadly shooting Thursday at a home in Winter Garden, Florida, according to police.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Reginal Sigler on Thursday following the death of 19-year-old Brandon Wright.

Investigators said they were called after Wright arrived at the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Wright ultimately died at the hospital, an arrest affidavit shows.

Police learned from the victim’s sister that the shooting happened on Easy Bay Cove.

The sister told police she was at her house when she got a call from her grandmother that Wright had been shot.

When she arrived at the scene, she found the victim’s brother speaking with Sigler, according to the arrest affidavit. Police said she asked Sigler what happened and the accused shooter said, “It was a mistake, it was a mistake.”

The sister claimed Sigler said the two men were at his house when they began arguing, the affidavit said. Sigler claimed Wright had him in a loose choke hold and said they should take their dispute outside, according to the affidavit.

The portion of the report describing how the shooting occurred is redacted.

Sigler described Wright to police as a “lifelong” friend.

He faces a charge of second-degree murder with a firearm.
