The Hawaiian woman arrested Saturday for the attempted murder of two people at a Waipahu home made her first court appearance Monday.

According to court documents, 31-year-old Irene Castro-Guzman entered her 33-year-old ex-boyfriend’s home on Kahualei Place, where she found him and his current girlfriend sleeping in a bedroom.

Guzman began attacking him with a kitchen knife, slashing his head and arm. When his 25-year-old girlfriend tried to intervene, Guzman stabbed her multiple times with the knife.

A neighbor heard the argument, looked out the window, and saw Guzman standing on the porch with the knife in her hand, yelling.

Guzman was seen leaving in a gray Honda Odyssey van before police arrived. Officers located her a short time later on Moanalua Road, and she was arrested for attempted murder.

During the investigation, detectives found two large kitchen knives with blood on the living room floor. The male victim told detectives he had been in a relationship with Guzman for two years and broke up three days before the incident.

She remains in police custody, held on a $750,000 bail. She is expected in court later this week.
