The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey is investigating the fatal shooting of an Irvington teenager who was hosting a party at his home on Friday night.

17-year-old Kansley Moneus was shot after a dispute with another male, authorities said Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:40 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police were called for a noise complaint after shots were fired at the party, which was promoted on Instagram, authorities said. When they arrived at 10:10 p.m, they discovered Moneus lying in his backyard with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers said the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting.
