One person in Nebraska is dead after a Friday morning shooting inside Florence Towers, according to Omaha police.
The OPD homicide unit obtained a felony arrest warrant for 20-year-old Davon Brown for 2nd-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony related to the murder of 26-year-old Shalonna Houston, according to a Friday night news release.
Officers responded to the shooting around 8:45 a.m. at Florence Towers, located near Browne Street and Florence Boulevard, according to authorities.
The victim was deceased when officers arrived at the scene, according to Omaha police.
Earlier on Friday, Omaha police said they were reviewing video from inside and outside the building to try and track down a suspect.
There have been no arrests yet, but authorities say several witnesses are providing statements and interviews.
They say the animals found inside the apartment are being transported to a safe location.
The investigation is ongoing.
