The Richland County Sheriff’s Department in South Carolina made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Sunday.
28-year-old Byron Lewie was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The shooting happened at the CK Mart on Broad River Road in Columbia. Deputies say around 5 p.m., they found a victim at the scene dead with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as 23-year-old Savion J. Fonville.
The investigation revealed that the shooting happened after an argument between Fonville and Lewie.
Lewie was booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
