Police responded to a shooting Sunday afternoon in Saginaw, Michigan, leaving one dead and one injured.
On October 23, at around 1:20 p.m., Saginaw Police officers responded to a call of someone shooting from a vehicle to another vehicle at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Pkwy and Lapeer Ave.
Police said the vehicle that was shot at was occupied by five people, two females and three males.
A 16-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead. Police identified the 16-year-old to be Emari Doss-Collins.

The 16 year-old female that was fatally wounded yesterday has been identified as Emari Doss-Collins. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Emari’s family, friends and classmates.
A 23-year-old male passenger sustained non-life threatening gun shot wounds and sought treatment at a local hospital.
Saginaw Police and MSP detectives responded to the scene to investigate. The MSP Crime Lab was requested to assist with processing the crime scene.
The investigation is on-going, no further details are available at this time.
