A Georgia man is dead after what deputies called a domestic dispute. It happened around 2:30 in the afternoon Sunday in the 5200 block if Zebulon Road.

Deputies responded to a call of a domestic situation and while in route to the address they were informed that a person had been shot.

Upon arrival deputies found 50-year-old Eddie Riddle, of Macon unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Eddie was pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone.

Eddie’s wife, 33-year-old Lateesha Riddle and her mother who were in the residence were taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigations Office for questioning. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are still determining what lead up to the shooting.

Lateesha turned herself in Wednesday afternoon for the shooting death of her husband on October 2.

A report released on Tuesday that details Lateesha Riddle’s account of what happened before she shot and killed her husband.

It describes a day of arguments that escalated to pushing and then shots.

Lateesha told deputies she and Eddie had been arguing throughout the day. When she was cooking in the kitchen, she says he knocked over a pot of collard greens she was cleaning and began yelling in her face.

She claims he pushed her head with his finger when they were arguing.

Lateesha said her mother got in between them and then Eddie pushed her mother out of the way.

Then, Lateesha told deputies that Eddie went into their bedroom, and she says, “she knew what he was going back there to get.” She told deputies she thought he was getting his gun and that he did that often when they argued.

From that point, the narrative is unclear. The report doesn’t say that Eddie ever got his gun or say how Lateesha got a gun.

But it says, at some point, Lateesha fired one or two shots at her husband. The report also doesn’t say what Eddie was doing when she shot him or that Lateesha claimed self-defense.

Riddle is charged with murder and aggravated assault. She’s being held without bond at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751 -7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
