A Michigan judge has decided that Mark Latunski will face a charge of first-degree murder after a degree hearing.
The murder degree hearing for Mark Latunski continued for a second day on Wednesday.
Latunski has admitted to killing and mutilating 25-year-old Kevin Bacon in court, accepting a plea into open murder.
The hearing was for the judge to determine if Latunski will be sentenced for a charge of 1st-degree or 2nd-degree murder. The judge decided on the former.
Back in 2019, Bacon’s body was found in Latunski’s Shiawassee County home.
Latunski and Bacon met on a dating app according to investigators.
Bacon’s body was hung upside down, with a slit throat, according to police. Investigators also say his testicles were removed and eaten by Latunski.
Sentencing will be held on Dec. 15 at 8:30 a.m.
