A 5-year-old Wisconsin girl who was shot in Green Bay Monday has died and the suspect is in custody, police say.

Police have identified a person of interest in the shooting as 35-year-old Jordan J. Leavy-Carter. Police say they would like to speak to him about the shooting.

The victim has been identified as 5-year-old Skyé Bleu.

On October 17, at about 4:49 p.m., police were called to the report of a child with a gunshot wound at an apartment building in the 1600 block of Amy Street. Skyé Bleu was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Police say Jordan Leavy-Carter is believed to be driving a dark green Mercury Milan sedan that has front-end damage and a license plate reading AHT-7886.

A neighbor said the building is known for drug activity but police say it’s too early in the investigation to know if it’s connected to any alleged drug activity. Police Chief Chris Davis had limited information at a news briefing Monday night and was unsure about previous police calls to the address.
