Police say the person of interest in the Oklahoma murder investigation of four men has been captured in Florida.
Chief Joe Prentice said Joe Kennedy was arrested in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, on Monday in connection to a stolen vehicle out of Okmulgee County.
The Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office said it has also issued a warrant for Kennedy’s arrest for a 2012 shooting investigation, which he’s already been sentenced for. The district attorney and sheriff will begin the process of getting Kennedy back to Okmulgee County.
Officials said 32-year-old Mark Chastain, 30-year-old Billy Chastain, 32-year-old Mike Sparks and 29-year-old Alex Stevens disappeared on Oct. 9.
Police found their bodies in the Deep Fork River last Friday, which were dismembered and had bullet wounds.
Investigators said the river appeared to be a dump site, and believe the men were dismembered before being placed in the water. They also believe the men were trying to plan some sort of crime before they were killed.
