Police in Arizona have arrested a woman accused of stabbing her father to death at a Phoenix apartment complex on Tuesday

Sgt. Robert Scherer says officers got a report of a stabbing just before 5:30 p.m. at an apartment near 29th and Sweetwater avenues, just south of Thunderbird Road.

When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Shaqueila Hudson, who said she had stabbed her father, 44-year-old Cory Little, during an argument. Little died at the scene.

According to court documents, Hudson told police she got into an argument with her father. It turned physical, and Hudson said Little grabbed her arm and wrist. She told police she then grabbed a kitchen knife from a table and told Little to leave her alone, court documents say. Hudson explained to police Little grabbed her wrist, and as she turned to face him, she stabbed him in the chest, court paperwork says.

Police said she told them it was an accident and wanted her father to leave her alone and not attack her.

Court paperwork said her two children were in the apartment at the time.

Authorities arrested Hudson shortly after speaking with witnesses. She is now booked on accusations of manslaughter.
