The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office in California filed charges against 24-year-old Isaiah Rumph and 22-year-old Charity Staffieri related to the alleged abuse that led to the death of Rumph’s 4-year-old daughter.

On Tuesday October 25, 2022, co-defendants Rumph and Staffieri were arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of assault causing death. The arrest came after Rumph’s 4-year-old daughter was pronounced dead at a local hospital following a 911 call that the child was unresponsive.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said deputies respondedon Oct. 25 to the Apple Valley Mobile Home Lodge on Highway 18 after reports that a 4-year-old female child wasn’t breathing. The child was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died.

A coroner later reported that the toddler had “numerous injuries indicative of child abuse.” The exact cause of the 4-year-old’s death hasn’t been revealed by law enforcement.

“Our homicide detectives interviewed the child’s father and the girlfriend, and they were both subsequently arrested for causing the child’s death,” the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said in a prepared statement.

Based on the facts of the investigation thus far, our Office has charged both co-defendants Rumph and Staffieri with the following charges;
