A former Fresno State art professor in California accused of hitting and killing a teenager with their vehicle in October has now been booked into jail, according to court records.
Fresno county jail records show that 39-year-old Lisa Spoors was taken into custody on Tuesday.
Spoors is accused of killing 15-year-old Rashad Al-Hakim, Jr. as he crossed the street outside of Hoover High School in Fresno.

Rashad Jr. passed away a week after the crash while in the hospital.
Spoors was not initially arrested following the incident as police were awaiting the toxicology results.
Officials with the Fresno Police Department say toxicology reports showed Spoors had illegal and prescription drugs in their system at the time of the crash.
Spoors faces a murder charge because she was previously convicted in California in 2008 of driving under the influence. She is also charged by District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp with driving under the influence of a drug causing great bodily injury and failure to perform a duty following a collision causing death.
Fresno State placed Spoors on investigatory leave in October after the crash. Spoors’ contract with the university officially ended last week.
