Three people in a love triangle have been sentenced to long prison terms for murdering a man who was not their intended target.

44-year-old Tyerune Blocker was shot to death in May 2021, in the north Florida town of Brooker.

Doug Heath and Martesha Johnson each got two life sentences after a jury convicted them of first-degree murder and attempted murder. There is no parole in Florida.

Jasmine Webb pleaded no contest to a manslaughter charge. She was sentenced to 12 years, with 599 days already served.

Prosecutors said that besides the love triangle, Webb had a brief relationship with another man, and that eventually led to the shooting.

Detectives determined, and a jury agreed, that Heath and Johnson killed Blocker, who was an innocent bystander, while they were trying to kill Webb’s other love interest.

The intended target was not injured.

Blocker’s loved ones made victim impact statements in court before the sentences were officially handed down.
