Police in North Carolina is investigating a New Year’s Day shooting that took the life of a 32-year-old Greensboro woman.

At around 1:42 a.m. on New Year’s Day, officers came to the area of Cridland Road and Parkway Street after getting a report of gunshots being heard.

At the scene, police found 32-year-old Natasha Yvette Walker suffering from a gunshot wound. Police announced later that Walker had died due to her injuries.

According to family members, Natasha had recently gotten married and was a mother of two.

Natasha gained popularity in Greensboro through her financial services business with the hope of closing the wealth gap and creating generational wealth for more people, according to WNCT.

Natasha published a Facebook post on Friday reflecting on her 2022 accomplishments and what she was looking forward to in 2023.

There is no suspect information available at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing.
