A Virginia man, woman, and her unborn child are all dead following a shooting in Hampton on Monday night, Hampton Police Chief Mark Talbot confirmed.
The Hampton Police Division said officers were called to Salisbury Way around 9:43 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the pair outside, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man, 24-year-old Dijonte Nash, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman, 25-year-old Destiny Layton, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Chief Talbot gave an update and said Layton had died. He also added she was eight months pregnant and her unborn child was also killed.
The police chief did not offer any details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, or if police are searching for any suspects.
