Sheron Lewis is the man who killed his wife and severely injured one of her daughters in Louisiana in 2022.

Now convicted of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, he went before Judge Mike Canaday for sentencing. He’s described by the judge as having no remorse.

The state called the murder of Kenesha Spencer and the attempted murder of her daughter, Kendria Peghee, exceptionally brutal, disturbing, violent, and cruel.

Lewis shot his wife 14 times, and he nearly killed her daughter Kendria all in front of three small children.

“He brutally murdered my mom in front of me and my sisters. He traumatized not only me but my sisters,” Peghee said.

Lewis is sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder, plus fifty years for attempted murder and fifteen years for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. The 15 years are to run concurrently with life in prison.

Survivor Peghee said it’s good to know he can’t hurt anyone else.

“He can’t undo anything. He can’t bring my mom back. To know that he’s never coming out, that satisfied me but I’m not happy. My mom’s not here. He’s not bringing my mom back. And it can’t undo anything,” Peghee said.

Kenesha’s sister, Stacey Spencer, feels they finally got justice and can move on.

“I think he got exactly what he deserved,” Spencer said.

Peghee was severely injured, spent three months in the hospital, and lost her right leg.

But she is determined to move ahead.

“I plan to go back to nursing school and become a registered nurse,” Peghee said.

Still, she said because her mom was killed, she is separated from her sisters, who live elsewhere, and they will never get to return to the life they loved together.

Lewis asked for a new trial, but the judge denied it.

Lewis’ attorney plans to ask for the sentence to be reconsidered and appeal his convictions.
