An Oklahoma man is in jail accused of trying to have sex with a toddler, according to online reports.
Michael Overby was arrested for lewd proposals to a child and violating the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Act.
Records show Michael Overby was arrested Monday night for lewd proposals to a child and violating the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Act.
Court records show Overby met a dancer at Red Dog bar and texted her on March 12th.
Documents state he asked the woman, “Do you allow sex with your daughter?”
The woman replied, “We’d have to talk in person.”
Police say the girl was two-years-old.
On March 16th, the woman reported Overby and the text message to the Cleveland County district attorney’s office.
“They had come across some information and it was credible information,” OKC police MSGT. Gary Knight said. “It was passed on to our detectives who began working the case.”
Police say they asked the woman to text Overby again about meeting up for sex with her daughter.
Records show she wrote, “I have been thinking about it. You are not going to do anything to physically hurt her?”
She also asked Overby what he thought a fair price would be.
Documents state that Overby replied the sex could take place at his apartment, which is where OKC police went and arrested him.
Police haven’t released the woman’s name because charges haven’t been filed against her.
It is unclear if the toddler is still in her care.
We called Overby’s cell phone for comment but records show he is still in jail on a $200,000 bond.
