A Texas man who fatally shot his wife and young daughter at a San Antonio apartment before he turned the gun on himself has been identified along with his family.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner identified the following people on Wednesday:
- 43-year-old Jeremy Martinez
- 37-year-old Shannon Martinez
- 7-year-old Bailey Martinez
SAPD public information officer Jennifer Rodriguez said their bodies were found at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Winding Creek Apartments in the 13100 block of NW Military Highway, near Wurzbach Parkway.
A relative of one of the victims grew concerned when they hadn’t heard from them since Saturday, Rodriguez said. The relatives went to the complex and asked San Antonio police to conduct a welfare check.
Police entered the apartment and found Jeremy, Shannon and Bailey Martinez dead from gunshot wounds.
“This appears to be a domestic situation,” Rodriguez said earlier this week.
Police said a firearm was found at the scene.
Rodriguez said SAPD would investigate if there was a history of domestic violence. Neighbors said they heard a scream earlier in the day but never could have guessed what happened.
