A South Carolina mother has been arrested after Richland County deputies say a baby boy died in her custody in early March.

Officials arrested 31-year-old Breonte Glasgow on Thursday morning after an investigation found multiple injuries on the body of an 8-month-old boy that she had sole custody of at the time.

Glasgow called 9-1-1 back on March 11 to report that the baby wasn’t breathing. He was taken to a local hospital by EMS and pronounced dead.

That same day, officials noted that the baby had multiple broken bones and other injuries while said baby was in Glasgow’s care.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office notified the Richland County Sheriff’s Department of a suspicious death, with Glasgow’s three other children taken into DSS custody shortly after.

Glasgow was charged with homicide by child abuse, and also charged with two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child after two of the other children were found with injuries. She was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
