The Charleston County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina has identified the name of the man who was killed in a Charleston grocery store parking lot.
Hadden Smith died from a gunshot wound at the Publix on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.
At 8:20 a.m., an officer doing paperwork behind the Publix heard gunshots in the area.
Police looked around the area and eventually found Smith lying on the pavement with an “obvious gunshot wound.”
He was pronounced dead at the scene and no other victims were found.
“This appears to investigators to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community,” the police department stated in a news release.
The Charleston Police Department’s investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
